Miranda Cristofani
for
Associate National Executive Director
of
Local 800

About me...from the members
The best test of a persons character can be gleaned through the words of their peers. I asked a few members to write some candid words about my involvement at the ADG.

With members Dana Braziel - Solovy, Scott Enge, Shelley Wallace and Flora Ortega
“I wholeheartedly endorse Miranda Cristofani for ANED. Miranda stands for the membership. She shows her commitment through her actions within and outside of our local, with passion, transparency and true solidarity. Miranda tirelessly puts in the work and challenges the status quo for the betterment of our Guild.
Words are easy to throw around but when I think of growing our union, protecting all of our members equally, and ensuring a fiscally sound future, I know Miranda Cristofani is the smart choice for ANED. “

It has been a joy to watch her effectively progress our leadership and always fight for equity amongst not only our local but the broader IATSE. Vote for Miranda! I know I will!”

“Miranda Cristofani is deeply committed to making the systems she’s part of more equitable, transparent, and collaborative.
During her time in the ADG, she has been a driving force in challenging the union’s outdated, top-down hierarchy. Unlike other candidates who may prioritize popularity or status, Miranda’s efforts are guided by unwavering principles—principles that put our union’s members first.
We are voting at a pivotal moment, as a corrupt President has unjustly removed the chairman of the National Labor Relations Board. Now, more than ever, we need an Associate National Executive Director with real vision—someone unafraid to push the ADG toward a more inclusive, transparent, and progressive future.
I urge my fellow Art Directors Guild members to vote for Miranda Cristofani for Associate National Executive Director.”

"Miranda Cristofani is the new energy this local needs in order to push forward into a future that will require radical transparency to rebuild our members' trust in their leaders.
We survived til '25, but now we need to thrive. Miranda is the voice for progress that will help us get there. She, and the other candidates that stand alongside her values, are the only ones I trust to lead the ADG into a future where EVERY member matters, and traditional top-down governance is challenged by more community-minded and equitable methods of organizing towards our collective goals.
Miranda Cristofani for ANED. There is no better candidate."

"Since 2019 I’ve had the honor of serving on various committees, as well as the AD Council, with Miranda Cristofani.

In this time I have known her to be a tireless advocate for our union members, while also proving to be immune to the political trappings that plagues our guild.

In pursuit of the modernization and change that I believe we are in dire need of, please join me in voting for Miranda Cristofani for Associate National Executive Director."

"Miranda is an Honest and Principled Individual with a tremendous amount of Tenacity and a Big Heart.
Characteristics which I am certain will be equally applied in the service of all members of Local 800, should you choose to elect her to the important role of Associate National Executive Director.
As all Four crafts have faced their own crises and dilemmas over the past several years, many requiring much-needed Objectivity and Principled Action by the Board and Office Staff.
Miranda has always been a Guild Officer who can be counted on to listen, process, and fairly act in accordance with her internal compass and egalitarian moral disposition.
With these most important characteristics in mind, I am recommending Miranda Cristofani for Associate National Executive Director."

"Long before elections, Miranda has consistently used her voice and leadership role to advocate for the young, diverse members of this guild. Her commitment to advocacy for ALL workers of this guild is unparalleled and what defines her character as a leader.
Last year when young workers faced high numbers of suspensions, we desperately reached out to our leadership for their help to address the decimation of our community. It was eye opening to see our suffering go unheard, unacknowledged, and to be met with calls for us young workers to “go pursue other career paths” during the darkest and lowest point of our careers. We deserve more from our leadership. We deserve to be given the respect to be heard and have our issues taken seriously. That was a turning point for many. It was Miranda who brought a motion to the board to suspend suspensions and used her leadership position to advocate for our survival in this guild and industry during an unprecedented work slowdown.
Earlier this year, we reached out to our leadership to advocate for us directly to IATSE President, Matthew Loeb, for a waiver of the 120 union work day requirement that excluded new and long-established members from being able to step up and answer the call to serve our guild. Miranda was the only candidate to support and encourage our efforts to participate in our guild’s leadership.
Through my experience working alongside Miranda as a CAT Team Captain during the last negotiations cycle, I have seen Miranda advocate for open communication and transparency with members in the negotiations process. I strongly support her ideas for creating a more member-led union culture in our guild. Her work in educational outreach, training programs, Production Design Advocacy and how it ties into the Production Designer Occupation code demonstrate her leadership and commitment to this guilds membership.
I ask that you join me in creating a member-led movement at this guild by voting for our sister and ally, Miranda Cristofani, as our next ANED."

"I am an ADG Set Designer based in LA. I was impressed with your answers to the questions at this weekend's town hall. I wanted to send you a note letting you know that you have my vote.
Your organizing skills and experiences with labor and legislation really drew me to vote for you.
I was invited to join the ADG’s PDI program in 2019 and became a member in 2021. I have been looking to be more involved. There are a number of young people that are looking to become more engaged and feel that the paths to involvement are clouded by pettiness and lack of focus within the union leadership.
Your answer to the questions during the town hall made me confident that you are the right voice of reason that our union needs. Progress is important."

"As a trustee, Miranda’s been fierce at looking out for the members’ interests.

It’s exciting to think what results she can get when empowered to hold our external partners accountable to this Local while learning more about the mechanisms that have hindered us.
She’s also a terrific listener and very involved in advocating for the underrepresented - and right now, we are ALL underrepresented in this industry."
