Campaign points
As a candidate for the position of Associate National Executive Director, I believe in building a stronger, united, and empowered union that will represent and value every members with equality and integrity. Here's my vision for how we can make things better for each and every one of you:

Member-Led Leadership
-
We need a union that is truly led by the members, not top-down. Every member's voice should be heard, and every decision should reflect the needs and concerns of the whole membership. It's time to work together and build the leadership that represents every member fairly.
Better Negotiations for All
-
Negotiations should be fair, clear, and effective. We need to make the process easier, more transparent, and more successful in securing the best outcomes for all our members and every craft. Together, we can secure better contracts, better working conditions, and better wages.
Solidarity & Teamwork
-
We are all in this together. Our strength lies in unity, and by gaining National Jurisdiction for all our crafts, we ensure that all members—regardless of location—work together to support each other. Solidarity is key to improving our working conditions nationally in negotiations. I will work on organizing member led National Jurisdiction for all crafts and uniting the membership to create stronger bargaining for every member.
Political Advocacy & Legislation
-
We must act at the state and federal level to secure work, benefits and protections for our members. I will advocate for bills like AB 27, CalCare, and other State and National legislation that improves our working conditions. It is imperative our voices are heard in the political arena and we fight for a better future.
Transparency & Communication
-
You deserve to know what’s happening in the union. We will establish clear, open lines of communication, so that every member understands the negotiation process, the decisions being made, and the actions being taken on your behalf.
Fighting for Healthcare Reform
-
Healthcare is a major issue for our members. Imagine bargaining for what we want and need without having to include Health Care coverage in the discussion. If we had Single Payer Health Care we could move the needle in negotiations on what the crafts need and deserve. I will support efforts for national single-payer healthcare, including CalMed and Medical for All. This is the biggest budget item for AMPTP and IATSE, and by securing healthcare, we free up resources for other critical negotiations. Every member deserves access to healthcare without relying on employers for benefits.
AI Protections
-
We must ensure that our jobs and jurisdiction are protected as technology, like AI, continues to evolve. I will fight to safeguard the value and integrity of our work in this rapidly changing landscape.
Guild and Union Balance
-
I am committed to balancing the needs of the guild and the union. Both are essential, and we must ensure that while we empower member led union activism, we also support and sustain the creative excellence of our profession.
Tax Incentives
-
I will advocate for a Federal tax incentive that will support work in the United States, as well as increased California State incentives. These efforts will not only improve our industry’s competitiveness but also directly benefit our members.
Member Engagement
-
Every member should have a chance to voice their opinion. My office is open to every member and I will encourage a public comment section in general membership meetings to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to speak and get involved in our union.
Empowering Union Activism
-
A strong union is a union that empowers its members to take action. It’s not just about negotiating contracts; it’s about mobilizing, advocating, and standing up for what we deserve. I will help facilitate and promote union activism, ensuring that all members have the tools and resources they need to take meaningful action.
Every member, stronger together
-
My goal is simple: to create a union that works for you, led by every member. It’s time for a leadership that listens, educates, and empowers. By coming together, we will improve our working conditions, access to healthcare and job security. Let's build the future we deserve—together.
By focusing on these key points, we can create a union that is not only effective in negotiating contracts but also deeply committed to improving the lives of all its members. I ask for your support in making this vision a reality!
